My Little Flower Book April 2016

Bonjour mes amis! I have missed you all!

Soo..... this post is a little on the late side.... as we are now into May; and the new boxes for this month are out for delivery.. but seeing as I have not received my May box yet I thought I would share with you all the stunning box/book I received from My Little Box for April!

MLB put a little bit of a "spin" on the box this month by turning it into a decorative book that ties with the standard MLB ribbon that is included normally in every box. I love the idea behind this "book box" It can be displayed beautifully on a shelf and this is something I will most likely do with this box. I like how MLB tend to mix it up sometimes with the boxes and surprise us - like the tin that was received in the "My Little Sweet Box". It just keeps the idea of the boxes a bit fresh and is nice to receive something a little different.

This month's box is in collaboration with "Balzac Paris". This is not a brand I am terribly familiar with but yet again something I LOVE about MLB being a French branded box - it introduces me to French brands I am not so familiar with. Can never have too many French brands in your life.... Can you? Naturally I gave the name a google and done a little bit of investigating and I like the look of this brand. To be honest I am rarely disappointed by many of the brands that MLB choose to collaborate with.

The back of the book has a cute little story incorporating a brief overview of what to expect inside the box and upon reading this..... I was desperate to delve into the box!

The first item I picked out of the box was a delightful little box... labelled.. "Jardin d'appartement." For those who know me well.. Know that I would love to live in Paris and it is my dream to be able to do it one day.. Have a little studio apartment somewhere with a little balcony. So this delightful little idea is right up my street! or Rue should I say! ahaha. This little box opens up to display a little pop up garden.

The delightful little box is a place for growing cress seeds. The little garden has absorbent paper that is the "soil" for growing the cress seeds. I love the idea of this and think the little garden is adorable but I would have preferred to have seeds of something that tied more in with the "Flower" theme - like some flowers... or Herbs for cooking? I don't know.. Cress.. Is a little dull. But all the same I will give them a go and see if they grow and pop the little garden on my kitchen window sill. I think I am more excited about the design of the cute little box than the actual cress itself! The price of this pop up garden is £7.

The next item I came across was this little canvas bag/pouch type thing that says "La Vie Elegante" on it and this is the item that Balzac have collaborated on. This little pouch is a travel pouch for lingerie. The label says..
"Created in collaboration with literary it-label Balzac Paris, this little pouch is perfect for carrying all your daintiest under things on your travels far and wide. With two separate compartments your loveliest lace and slinkiest silks will stay safe and sound, no matter how far you choose to roam."
I must admit I really like this item despite hearing quite a lot of negative responses about this item. I tend to go on quite a lot of long weekend breaks or overnight stays and think this will be perfect for putting my under wear in. Some people have been disappointed about the size of the compartments however; that won't be a problem for me - My lingerie will fit in to it nicely.

As you can see above there are the two compartments for your separates and then the little pouch folds over and ties with a silk ribbon. I think the idea of this is very unique and is perfect for the summer months approaching when more people are off on their holidays. The price of this item is £13.

D'accord....... So now for the little bag of make up items...! This is always exciting...!

The first item I pulled out was a NailsInc nail polish in a mushroom brown colour (no. 424). I absolutely ADORE this colour and have been searching for this type of colour - I think it looks very elegant and subtle. I have not used many polishes by NailsInc before but I have gave this a try and I am giving it a big thumbs up! Intensity of colour is great and has been chip resistant for the few days I have been wearing it already. This nail polish retails at £11 for 10 ml.

The next item I came across was a L'occitane shower gel in Pivoine Flora scent. This shower gel is very much rose scented which I am not overly keen on.. It is perfect for the theme of spring but not a scent I am that partial to... I may have to gift this item to someone else or I will try to swap it on "My Beauty Box swaps" Facebook group which is an excellent group where people who subscribe to beauty boxes can trade any unwanted items they receive from selected boxes and in turn can receive items they actually want. I would highly recommend having a look at this group if you are a big beauty box subscriber. This shower gel retails at £15 per 250 ml and I received a 75ml bottle.

The last beauty item I received was from the in house "My Little Beauty" range from MLB sand this was a Rosy Mornings - Detoxifying mask. I love facemasks and use them regularly so I was super pleased to see this was featured. I will most definitely use this as facemasks always leave my skin feeling glowing and gets rid of any nasty's that can dull your complexion. This mask comes out in its natural form as a creamy off white colour and changes to a peachy rose colour on application with the skin... Leave to sit for 5 minutes et Voila! This retails at £11 for 50ml.

My only one disappointment with this months box was that there was no illustrated card by Kanako.. I do love these cards and collect and frame them so I was a little disappointed to have not received one... Here's hoping for the next box.

Fav Product: The NailsInc and the travel pouch
Least Fav product: The L'occitane shower gel

If you subscribe to MLB what did you think of this box? Yay or Nae?

I thank you ever so much for reading all you lovely people and look forward to writing my next review of the MLB for May which should be dropping on my doorstep sometime very soon!

Merci Beaucoup! Et Joyeux spring!

A bisous! Cheryl x
