My Little Creative Box October 2015

Bonjour mes ami!

I am pleased to share with you all my review of the latest offering from My Little Box for October. The theme of this month's box is Creative and the box is in collaboration with Pinterest which fits perfectly with the theme. I know many other beauty boxes do special collaborations from time to time but the thing I love about MLB is that they always get really amazing collaborators on board which make the boxes even more special and it is practically every month that they have such collaborators. Some of my favourite have been DVF, Fleur deForce, Ines de la Fressange and Delphine Pariente.

Soooo......... Without further a do.. Lets see the contents of this box.

One thing that is noticeably different about this box is that the lid of the box is not designed with the standard Kanako illustration instead it displays a collage of photos all MLB related; I think it is aiming for the idea of a Pinterest board which ties in well with the theme and is quite nice to see something different.. However I am a big fan of the Kanako illustrated boxes as they are simply too pretty and lovely to keep. So I hope this idea is just a one off thing..

As always with MLB the box came with an illustrated card by Kanako which displays a quote from Albert Einstein and says.. "Creativity is intelligence having fun". The card is something I will most definitely frame as I do with all of my MLB cards.

So the first item I pulled out from the box was a gorgeous material tote bag which is spotted on one side with the MLB logo and on the other side says: "Collect moments not things". This bag is super cute and functional. I will definitely be getting some good use out of this; and no one can ever have too many tote bags! This retails for £15 in the My Little Shop which is unfortunately not available in the UK yet :(

The next lifestyle item is something I have never actually seen before and is super cute! They are little coloured beads that you clip on to wires for like earphones, phone chargers, whatever you fancy really and I must say I am loving these. I am going to use these to customise my earphones as I am always listening to music on the go and I reckon this idea should prevent them for tangling as easy. Big thumbs up! The wire-wrap beads are retailed at £16.

So moving on to the beauty items found in the little material draw-string bag; and I was very pleased with what I received. There is noticeably a lack of make up items and more skincare products but I am ok with that.. I do love face creams and especially French branded ones that I am not familiar with.

The first item is: Un Songe d'Or beauty oil by Ainy in 100ml size. This is a brand I have never heard of but will most definitely be trying this out. This product is a nourishing oil for the face, body and hair. Inspired by sacred Latin American healing rituals; the brand Ainy is very eco-friendly and have sourced the ingredients from the Andes and Upper Amazon. The oil smells incredibly sweet and is created entirely from medicinal plants. I have recently been using a lot of oils on my skin and as deep hair conditioners such as coconut oil and Polynesian radiance oil. I will most certainly be giving this a go and I love the scent and that it is all purely natural ingredients. This retails at £29 for 100 ml.

The next item is Photo-Hydra Day cream from Talika in 30 ml size. The idea behind this cream is that it has a unique technology that gathers the sun's energy and turns it into intercellular hydrating energy. Aiming to provide hydration all day for your skin I will be interested to see if this technology works but it sounds interesting and I like the idea of the brand and that it is French. The cream has a pleasant scent but not overly scented and has a light texture on the skin. This retails at £43.50 for 50ml.

The last of the skin care items is the product from My Little Beauty and compliments the other products really well; Crème de Minuit is basically a night cream with shea butter and wheat proteins to soothe and nourish skin whilst you sleep. I use night creams a lot as they have a more deep nourishing effect on the skin and give you the much needed moisture your skin requires whilst asleep. Again the packaging for this product is adorable and comes in a 40ml size. From the other MLB products I have tried I like the formulas and often find they work well with my skin so I will be definitely using this night cream, This retails for £15.

Overall I am really liking this month's box.. I was a bit undecided when I heard what the theme would be.. But I am really pleased with the products and will use all of them.

Favourite Product: I think it has to be the Photo Hydrating cream and  I really like the cute little beads! Sooo cute!
Least Favourite Product: I actually liked everything so this will be incredibly hard... I can't actually choose! I like all the products so I'm not going to nominate a bad product this month....

Thank you for reading! and let me know if you received any products that were different.

Merci Beaucoup and Stay Creative!

New Shoes, Happy Feet! Nicholas Kirkwood with Roksanda

Nicholas Kirkwood in collaboration with Roksanda

I have been lusting after these shoes since they popped up on my newsfeed on Facebook from Oliva Palermo's page... After much contemplating and a sale! Which very much swayed my decision I purchased the Nicholas Kirkwood shoes online from Browns in London.

Known for his architecturally bold designs, Nicholas Kirkwood presents a beautiful design boasting a neon pink and mint green crossover front, mirrored toe and uniquely curved heel. These shoes are simply vibrant and quirky and capture the vivid spirit of the designer. These shoes will most certainly add a kick to your outfit whether it be a more relaxed pair of skinny jeans or a more dressed up look for a night out.

Olivia Palermo certainly got me hooked with these shoes and I felt like I needed them in my life! They are even more perfect than the pictures portray and I can't wait to wear them out and about... They came beautifully presented and I definitely think they will be adding a touch of vibrancy to my outfits! Who says autumn has to be dull?

Thanks for reading! Happy shoe wearing!

My Little Fashion Box September 2015

Bonjour mes amis!

I have a review of the latest offering from My Little Box all the way from Paris, France. From those of you who have not heard of the My Little Brand; it is a monthly beauty/lifestyle/fashion subscription box that is sent with love from France! Now... for me being a great lover of all things Parisian this was the most perfect subscription for me and I am sure those with similar interests will agree. Unlike other beauty boxes; like Birchbox and Glossybox.... My Little Box offers more than make up and beauty products; each month it surprises with lifestyle items such as scarves, little pieces of jewellery, cute stationery and lots more! I have been a subscriber for more than 6 months now and this; in my opinion is the best beauty box I subscribe to.

So lets delve into the September edition...

Each month brings a new theme from My Little Box.. In the past there has been a Frenchie box, a French Riviera box, a Roadtrip box and so on... So it only seemed like the perfect choice that for the month of September it would be a fashion box.

The box comes packaged in a little cardboard box complete with a sticker on the lid (they are so cute I put them in the inner lid of the box lid.)

The boxes are always beautifully illustrated with a cute design from the MLB in house illustrator Kanako. And this month's design displays the front row at a fashion show which is really cute. The box always normally comes with a Little printed card with an illustration from Kanako that are perfect for framing.. This months the card is a quote from Jean Cocteau that says "The prettiest Dresses are worn to be Taken off...."

This month's box didn't fail to impress it is safe to say... I was really happy with the contents of the box; the only one thing I must say I am not best pleased about is that MLB persist to give UK subscribers a fold out poster style paper copy of the My Little World magazine in which I know other UK subscribers express the same dissatisfaction. The French subscribers are still receiving the glossy style mini magazine which we used to receive and for some reason it has changed.. The glossy edition is much easier to pop into your bag and read on the go and I mean who is really going to use the poster they give you?

The contents of this months box are: an American vintage scarf; who collaborated with MLB for this month's box (they often get very good collaborators on board... one of which was Diane Von Furstenberg!) and a set of adhesive nails decals by Alfa-K in a geometric graphic design. For the beauty/make up products MLB like to include these in a little cute cotton draw string bag which can be very useful to keep and use again for travelling etc.. The one in particular is so cute as it says on it "Trust me you are Lovely.." There are normally 3 beauty products included in the little bag 2 of which are from brands normally of a French origin and 1 item from the My Little Beauty range from My Little Box.

The 3 beauty products in this month are a: Kerastase Couture Styling Laque Noire, an Effaclar K (+) treatment by La Roche-Posay and a Red Dingue Lip Colour by My Little Beauty.

American Vintage Scarf retailing at 24 EUR: On seeing the other boxes received by subscribers there were various colours of the scarf on offer. I received the white and blue which I am really pleased with as this was the colour I wanted. The print is gorgeous almost similar to a Mulberry print.. like a little leaf style print. I will definitely be wearing this as autumn sets in; it is very Parisian chic! Delighted with it!

Neo Nail Art by Alfa-K retailing from 5.90 EUR: Now these little geometric nail decals are perfect for something a bit different and a much quicker method than waiting on polish to dry! The graphic design is very modern and something to give your nails a bit of a geometric, edgy design. Loving these and are so easy to take off with your normal nail polish remover.

Kerastase Hair Laque 75ml retailing at £16 for 300 ml: I was over the moon to see that a Kerastase product was included and for the month of fashion its only right it should be <3 This oh so cute little mini hairspray is the perfect handbag size for all those fashion events in September. This fixing spray has an excellent hold and has a 24 hour-hold anti-humidity shield which is perfect especially for hair that is put at risk from rain and moisture. It has a pleasant scent and I didn't need to top up over the course of the night as it held my hair really well in place. 10/10 for Kerastase.

Effaclar K (+) treatment by La Roche-Posay retailing at £14.90 for 30 ml: This treatment is for oily skin which most of us encounter at some point with our skin and can be a bit troublesome to deal with so this treatment is intented to be your shine-saviour. It has a mix of antioxidants and aircilium absorbs grease and oil to get rid of the unpleasant oily sheen our skin can sometimes encounter. La Roche-Posay is a fantastic brand and I am really pleased to see MLB include a product of theirs feature in the box.

Red Dingue de Lui, My Little Beauty retailing at 22 EUR: I am absolutely LOVING this lip colour. It is very and I stress very pigmented and has the most beautiful red colour that lasts all night. I felt ever so Parisian chic with this colour and teaming this with my scarf I will feel ever so the essence of Parisian chic! I think this is my favourite item out of the box and this will be my statement colour adding a dash of warmth for autumn..

So all in all very pleased with this box and I am excited about the next offering from MLB which be a Creative box; so I am excited to see what this will bring. Definitely something a little different but I am sure MLB won't fail to impress.

If you are interested in subscribing to MLB full details are on their website www.mylittlebox.co.uk and with the Code FIRSTBOX you can get your first box for only £11. Normal price is £11 + £3.95 P&P.

I have more exciting upcoming posts where I will be doing a beauty box swap with my friend Rachel who lives in L.A!

Merci Beaucoup for reading and stay chic!
