My Little Goodnight Box November 2016

Bonjour mes amis!

I am delighted to share with you the latest offering from My Little Box for the month of November. And this month's theme is.... Goodnight! At first I was a little unsure about how MLB would execute this box.. but I must say I am a happy customer with this months box.

I managed to resist ALL urge to sneak a peak at any spoilers online which can be quite a challenging task when there are lots of photos posted on instagram. I always find the boxes to be way more enjoyable when I have no idea what is going to be in it... It really is like unwrapping a surprise pressie! That's what I love about subscription boxes... Its almost like you've treated yourself to an extra birthday present every month but have no idea what it is! Something to make me smile everything month! what could possibly be wrong with that?

The box this month is designed beautifully with a starry sky; it is pretty simplistic than a lot of the other boxes but I think the design works well and the little sticker inside the box is really sweet.

The box comes tied up as usual with the MLB ribbon and the card this month is double sided with a little anecdote about stars and night time and then on the other side there is a really cute illustration of a girl in her bed and says "Je ne veux pas dormir, je ne veux que rever." This translates into "I don't want to sleep, I just want to dream."

The glossy mag is included as it does every month and as usual I always set aside some time to have a read through it as I really enjoy the articles and spreads in it.

The first item I pulled out of the box was a crepe paper starry envelope which says "Sweet Dreams" on it. Inside the envelope was a sleep mask in a midnight blue colour with little moons and stars all over it. I really like this item and sleep masks are something I never wear as I can sleep pretty much at any time and do not need complete darkness which is why I think some people use these masks. It is really cute though and I might give it a try. It is actually really soft and might even be really comfortable to wear.

The next of the lifestyle items I pulled out of the box was a really cute little box and I was intrigued to see what was inside...

Inside the box was such a cute little jewellery dish for putting rings, earrings on and other little small pieces of jewellery and I LOVE it! I already own a little jewellery dish which is now becoming a tad overloaded with my jewellery so another one will most definitely come in handy. This little polished porcelain dish is in a half moon shape and is adorable. A definite staple for my bed side table.

D'accord.... For the next part of the box; the beauty bag of items. The little drawstring bag this month was pretty plain in its design with little stars on it.

The first item I had a look at was the Garnier PureActive 3 in 1 in a 50ml size. This 3 in 1 formula is designed to Wash, Scrub and Mask and is the "ultimate beauty multitasker" - a great thing for anyone on the go and in a hurry. "Combining three skincare products in a single bottle, it cleverly cleanses, exfoliates and fights the appearance of blemishes all at once." I have not tried this product yet but I do enjoy Garnier products and they work well on my skin so I imagine I will use this. A 150 ml size of this item is retailed at £5.10.

The next little item in a cute, adorable box was a perfume sample from brand Yves Rocher and is called: Secret D'Essences Accord Chic. MLB's description of this perfume is "spicy, daring, mysterious and French." I find it to be more of a muskier scent than I would wear and seems more suitable for a more mature lady. I loved the last perfume sample that was received in the Sweet Box last October I think... It was the Elixir perfume from Yves Rocher and I much preferred that one to this one. This perfume retails at £53 for 50 ml (A rather pricey perfume.. ) At this price tag I think I will be sticking to my Mon Paris from YSL.

The last of the beauty items was a Moonrise make-up remover jelly. This generous 100 ml sized bottle from My Little Beauty is beautifully designed with half moons on it in a midnight blue background. This formula is 99.5% natural and vegan that is suited to every skin type. On contact with water this cleanser transforms into a gentle milk, that is very gentle with a subtle scent and works excellently at removing make up and dirt from the face.

Favourite item: Moon Jewellery dish
Least Favourite item: Yves Rocher perfume

A delightful mixed bag of items this month from MLB. I am happy with what I received this month however..... I am super excited to see what My Little Box delivers for December! The Christmas boxes for subscription boxes have very high expectations to deliver something spectacular so I am intrigued to see what December delivers. Having said that I always love the My Little Boxes' and will be continuing my subscription for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for reading this if you do!

A Bientot et bisous!

My Little Brooklyn Box October 2016

Bonjour mes amis!

Autumn is now upon us and its getting a wee bit chilly! So I was delighted to receive My Little Box for October, to see what goodies await me. I already knew what the theme of this months box was and as I am a HUGE fan of anything New York related.. I was delighted to see it was the theme of Brooklyn. My Little Box previously done a New York box when they were only supplying boxes in France and I really had my fingers crossed they would do another spin on a "New York" themed box. Brooklyn in itself is coming in to its own and creating its own identity from Manhattan with is quirky cafes, artisan shops, indie boutiques; basically a hipsters paradise. I think Brooklyn ties in very well with the theme of October and autumn; My Little Box have delivered on this box and I am sooo happy they didn't go with a Halloween theme which would have been soo clichéd for October.

The design of the box is soo cute depicting a lady drinking her coffee and reading a book in no doubt a hipster coffee house in Brooklyn. In the inner lid of the exterior cardboard packaging of the box was such a cute little sticker of a Donut that says: "Donut Worry". Love this.

Upon opening the box; it was tied up together in ribbon holding all the contents together and came with the printed card which I love to frame and will most definitely frame this one as I just love it.

The card displays features of Brooklyn and most iconically the Brooklyn bridge which I have had the privilege of already walking across.

Ok soo let's dig into the all important contents of the box!

The first item I had a look at was an interesting little plastic stencil type item which I discovered to be a stencil for your coffee to create a design on the top with cocoa powder. This is such a cute idea and as I tend to drink a lot of coffee at home this will be the perfect way to spruce up my coffee and to impress my friends when they come to visit! Costa.... Move aside! ahaha

The glossy mag is featured again and has some interesting articles on Brooklyn travel and fashion/food etc.. A great wee read.

The first of the lifestyle items I had a look at was an interesting box that says "Coffee made me do it" on the lid and the box is designed in like shop fronts all around the box. Sooo I am thinking this is some kind of coffee mug and it is! And I LOVE this little mug! It is an enamelled mug in white with a turquoise rim and this is such a quirky little mug that I will be drinking plenty of coffees from.

This mug retails for £10.

The next item I had a look of the lifestyle ones were little pins that I initially thought were earrings but turned out to be collar pins for a shirt and there was another little pin too that was in the shape of a doughnut and it is really cute! I love collar pins to add an extra bit of detailing to a shirt or collared top and these are very elegant. The pins retail for £6 and I think that is a reasonable price.

Now for the beauty bag of goodies.. The first item I pulled out the bag was a Polaar hand cream in 75ml. I have already received one of these before in another beauty box and I really love this cream. It is perfect for the harsh weather winter can bring and can dry out hands. Pleased to see there is an item that I have already used before and know it is a great product on the other hand I enjoy beauty boxes as a means of testing and becoming introduced to new products to try out.

The next item in the box was an eyeliner Khol pencil by the brand Terry in the shade Terrybly. This shade is a lovely gold colour and I am very excited to try this as I don't experiment with many other shades of eyeliner other than black so gold will be interesting. And most suitable as we approach the wintery, festive period! I have used Terry eyeliners before and they are one of my favourites I particularly like their resistance to smudge. This eyeliner retails for £24.

The last of the beauty items is from My Little Beauty and is a nail strengthening treatment. This treatment is intended to be applied twice a week and aims to strengthen and fortify nails from top to bottom. I tend to change my nail polish a lot and I am to prone to the dreaded dry, brittle nails that easily break so I am gonna give this a try and see the results. I always use base coats to protect my nails from nail polish however rarely actually apply a treatment. This retails for £7 from My Little Beauty.

Well.... there you have it! Another offering from My Little Box and I am really pleased with it. More so for the lifestyle items and thr theme they were going for. Not just as impressed with the beauty items but all the same a great box.

Favourite item: Enamelled coffee mug
Least Favourite item: Polaar hand cream (bit boring)

My Little Mademoiselle Box September 2016

Salut mes ami's!

Mademoiselle (n.): 1. Term of address denoting younger female. 2. A French-er, fancier way of saying "Miss". 3. A free-spirited, mischievious, and insouciant young woman. One who's got that special something you just can't get enough of. The one with that famous je ne sais quoi.

To quote from the My Little World magazine... This month's theme from My Little Box is something oh so French and chic and is Mademoiselle!

I knew my Little Box would be delivering something special for the month of September as it the month of Fashion! Not only in Paris but across the globe. And this has been quite a running theme for the boxes of September by My Little Box as last years box was a Fashion box and the year before that: a Parisian box. In my opinion My Little Box do these boxes best as they are a Paris based brand and really know how to add a little Parisian style to your life. Something I really love and admire about these boxes.

So let's check out the box!

The sticker that is normally included in the inside lid of the box was missing this month.. and although it is just a sticker; it is a little extra that is missed and something I'd like to see each month.

The style of this month's box is unique to the usual boxes as it designed to be like a little shop with the ribbon tied in the middle so when you untie it; its like opening the little doors to the fashion boutique. My Little Box collaborated with an English blogger: Freddy My Love. Who is actually someone I have never heard of.... :/ Anyone else heard of her? Another collaborator for this box is Claudie Pierlot; a French clothing brand known for their "elegant designs with a cheeky, playful edge." The epitome of French style.

Upon opening the box there was a printed card with a photo of Freddy on it and some information about herself and Claudie Pierlot. Not really something I would frame and display but a nice touch all the same.

The glossy mag from My Little World was included and I always enjoy this little mag for a good read and always has interesting style edits and make up articles.

The contents of the box I noticed to be significantly less than normal.... However; on opening the lifestyle item I realised the reasoning behind why we only received one item. The main lifestyle item is a purse designed by Claudie Pierlot and is retailed at £30. What can I say about this purse??.... J'Adore! It is beautifully designed in a navy blue shade with a red trim finish and complete with little bow on it. The purse is a great size for keeping everything I need in a purse.. All my cards, coins etc and looks beautifully elegant in true Parisian fashion.

The little bag of beauty goodies was so cute this month and reminded me of a Lulu Guinness design with a little face on it.

Inside the bag was the usual three beauty items and the first item I pulled out was a Ginseng Shot Mask by a Korean Skin Therapy company called erborian. This mask is in the style of a face sheet mask which I really love and feel these style of masks are very easy to apply and remove and work wonders on my skin. This mask is supposed to act like a concentrate of youth and helps to visibly reduce the signs of ageing. Always a bonus! I am looking forward to trying this out soon. The mask retails for £6.

The next item in the bag was a REN 3-in-1 cleansing water in a 50 ml size. To be honest this item is the biggest disappointment in the box as I already received one of these in the January Wish Box and it just seems like My Little Box are recycling items which for a subscription box that is supposed to showcase new and exciting items and brands is just a bit of a disappointment to me. I will most likely put this item up to swap on the Facebook page I help to admin. Please check it out.. I will post the link below. I have looked at some other reviews of this box and it looks like some other subscribers have received an Essie nail polish. Again..... A bit of a boring, predictable product.

The last item from the My Little Beauty range is a Mascara Mademoiselle. I am really pleased with this item and I am happy to see a different item other than some sort of body lotion.. The mascara wand is a good quality brush and I have been happy with the results of this mascara so a big thumbs up for this item. A mascara in a beauty box will never fail to impress me. This retails for £14.

I also received a bonus item this month as I previously signed up to their Summer pack promotion whereby subscribers would receive an extra lifestyle item for the months of July, August and September. This month I received a headband that I love! Its the same style as the one included in the Dolce Vita box but this one is in different colours and I prefer it a lot more. I saw that this item featured in one of the French boxes and I was keen to get my hands on one so I am a happy girl that I received this!

The headband came in such a cute little box and I just love the range of colours used for this.

My Little Friends Box August 2016

Bonjour mes amis! I am delighted to give you my review of the August offering of My Little Box! And for the summery month of August the theme is........ Friends.

I already knew from a few spoilers what the theme of this months box was and I normally like to take a sneak peek on instagram to see the contents of the box however; this month I decided to use all of my willpower to restrain myself from taking a look and decided to keep it a complete surprise. And I will admit that opening the box was a lot more fun not having any idea what's inside! And as usual with My Little Box.... I was very happy with the little box of joy I received! My Little box always manages to brighten my day :)

The box came packaged up as usual in its cardboard carton with a little sticker on the lid that looks like this...

We go together like a bikini and ice cream. Such a cute little sticker that I have stuck on to the inner lid of the box.

The design of the box is beautiful as always and designed by Kanako. It shows some friends chilling in a pool in their inflatable doughnut rings.. Oh where I wish I could be right now!

The box came tied up with the ribbon as always and has quite an interesting card this month that is double sided. On one side there is a little story about friends supporting and uplifting each other to achieve their dreams. A nice little inspiring message. And on the other side it says.. "In Girlsquad we trust."

A nice little card that I may consider framing as I do with a lot of the cards but this one is not just as cute and to my liking as the other ones.

The box has the glossy mag from My Little World which I always find to be an interesting read with my coffee.

Now onto the fun part....! The contents of the box; and these were a complete surprise.

The first item I pulled out was a little cardboard carton that says "Let's make some memories." And to my delight I found out it is a clip on fisheye camera lens - suitable for all smartphones. I have seen some fisheye photos pop up on instagram every now and then but have never used a lens or filter like that myself. The little lens just clips on over the camera lens on your phone and viola! Get snapping away! I am really enjoying experimenting with this lens so far and I am taking some interesting photos. A fish eye lens basically transforms normal photos into super-wide angle photos and creates a really interesting effect. So far I am loving it and I carry it with me if I am out and about in case I see something I want to snap. This lens comes in collaboration with a brand called Printic. I have never heard of this company but they have included a special code to receive 10 free prints when ordered online... So.... I might just do that! Happy days all round.

Here is a photo that I took with the fish eye lens so you can get an idea of what it looks like....

The smartphone camera lens retails for £12 and comes in an adorable little pouch that's says "Click". Awwwww.....

The next item was a little bit of a surprise as it was a snack item and was a bag of sweet and salty popcorn from the brand Proper Corn. The bag is a snack size of 14g; I have tried this popcorn before I really liked it so happy with that. Who could ever refuse a snack... A 30g bag of this popcorn is £1.

The next of the lifestyle items was a cute little soft, cushioned case with Nails in progress displayed on the front so I could only guess that this was a little nail set. The set is so compact, cute and perfect for travelling. It contains a pair of nail clippers, a cuticle stick, an emery board and a metal nail file.

The nail set retails at £7.50. Delighted with it and I will definitely get a lot of use out of it as I am forever doing my nails.

Ok so now on to the little bag of beauty items.... Oh the mystery awaits!

The first item I pulled out was a can of Batiste Hairspray in 75ml size. I have never seen Batiste retail hairsprays before other than dry shampoos which I always use so I am intrigued to see what their hairspray game is like. The "Hold me Hairspray" comes with Keratin and Inca Inchi oils and has a 24 hour invisible hold. The scent is fairly pleasant and not too much of that standard potent hairspray smell. I have only used it once and was pleased with the results so I will be intrigued to see how it goes the more I use it. It will be hard to beat my beloved Kerastase Lacque Noir which is my staple hairspray. Let the battle of the hairsprays commence! lol

The next beauty item was a comforting cream by the brand Kadalys for all skin types and is a combination of banana, mango butter and moisture-retaining hyaluronic acid. I do always love a face cream and go through them soo fast so this is perfect for me, Will definitely be using this and love the scent of it so a winner all round. I received this in a 40 ml size.

The last beauty item is one from the My Little Beauty range and is really cute in the packaging of it. It has little flamingos all over it. The item is a summer lips tinted lip balm in a red colour with SPF 20. I tend to use lipsticks more for a more intense lip colour but this is nice for hydrating my lips or for wearing on a more casual occasion if you need just a little hint of colour. I also really lip to prep my lips with a lip balm before applying lipstick so this may be ideal for just that. This is retailed at £12 which I reckon is a little steep.... I would not pay that amount for it but all the same its a nice little item and won't go to waste.

Well that's it for another month from My Little Box... A great selection of items in there and I am delighted with it; cannot actually fault much of it at all as all the items were to my liking and I will use them.

Marks out of dix: Neuf
Favourite item: The fish eye lens
Least Favourite item: Hard decision.... but probably the tinted lip balm.

I thank you sooo much for reading this! A big merci beaucoup! And I hope you enjoy reading these reviews.

Join me next time for the September box which I have a feeling is gonna be an extra special one!

A bisious and a bientot!
