My Little Home Box February 2016

Salut mes amis!

I am pleased to share with you the latest offering from My Little Box for February 2016.

Now with a lot of Beauty Boxes.. they tend to go down the route of the standard "Love" theme for the month of February.. Which is a bit overdone to be honest - So I was really hoping MLB would deviate away from this trend and come up with something a little more original. I sort of thought they would steer away from any Valentines theme as last February they did not bother with having any sort of "Love" theme. That is one of the reasons I appreciate what MLB do.. they come up with the unexpected and do not like to always follow expected trends for the themes of their boxes.

So... for February MLB decided to go with the theme of "Home".

When I saw the theme was going to be "Home" I was quite intrigued as to what we were going to receive as it is not a typical theme for a standard beauty box but like I mentioned: MLB like to surprise and be a bit random from time to time.

On opening the box.. I was delighted to see that instead of the standard Kanako print on top of the contents of the box there was a Kanako illustration.. But in a photo frame. It is adorable. The little frame is wooden and comes in a lovely blue colour with a print of a young girl sitting on the sofa in her home. The print is reversible and on the other side it has a quote by Charles Eames that says "The uncommon beauty of common things". I would happily display this photo frame with the existing print in my home as I already frame a lot of the Kanako prints I receive and display them around my home. I love the idea of this cute photo frame and will definitely get some good use for it. The photo frame is retailed on mylittlecorner.fr for £6.

Underneath the photo frame I was delighted to see that MLB are continuing to keep up with the glossy mag  for My Little World and are choosing to name it as the theme of each box; so for this month its simply called Home.

I always enjoy reading these little mags and have found that since they have "re-invented" My Little World it is a lot more enjoyable to read.

The next lifestyle item I received was a pillow case which I love! love! the design of! However... the material.. Not so keen on. The material sadly lets this nice idea down a bit. The material is similar to that of a material tote bag that would be used to carry shopping - not so much nice material for a comfy cushion. That being said.. I will buy a cushion for this cover and will get some use of it. The design is too pretty not to and right up my street.

I love the pattern - like little bunting flags and the pastel colours are lovely. On the other side of the pillow is a pale blue shade with white polka dots which is very cute.

The pillow retails for £10 on mylittlecorner.fr and in my opinion this is a bit steep for the quality of the material so I would not neccessarily buy one of these but at the same time... a cute idea.

Now for the little canvas drawstring bag of beauty goodies..

And......... I have to say..........with regret........ I was not overly impressed by this month's choice of products.

There was a distinct lack of make up items this month - which is a bit of a recurring theme with MLB these days..  And yeh you've guessed it.. more creams!

The first item I had a look at was a Body cream by Mitchell and Peach. I have not heard of this brand before however the cream is pleasantly scented.. "inspired by the English countryside." The packaging is very sophisticated and looks expensive. I now have another body cream to add to my collection after still working my way through the Rituals body lotion I received a couple of months ago. I think the concensus across the board from other MLB subscribers has been that we have been receiving too many body lotions/face creams/hand creams recently which I concur with. I'd definitely like to see more varied make up items or nail products..

This cream retails at £36 for 180 ml and I received a 100 ml bottle.

The next item comes from a French brand called Noxidoxi and is a mask and peel perfection eclat face scrub. I love the scent of this product and is very fresh especially for in the mornings for a wake up revival. I will definitely make more use of this than a standard body lotion as I do love everything skincare for my face.

This retails for 24.90 EUR per 50 ml and I received a 40 ml sample.

The last remaining item was from the My Little Beauty range and I do always enjoy these products and they sit well with my skin so thats an advantage. However I look forward to their make up products and have been a bit disappointed by the lack of it recently. The product I received was an Easy morning skin-perfecting cream amd retails at £10 for 40 ml. I will definitely make use of this cream as it contains a subtle shimmer to bring radiance  and a glow to skin in the morning. I love the scent and think this will compliment the midnight cream I received in a previous box which has worked wonderfully on my skin.

Overall I would say I am pleased with this month's box however a bit of a step down from December and January box. I think MLB definitely has to get more make up brands on board and get make up as a more prominent feature in the box.

I am happy with the other items and think they will fit well in my home and suit my style very well.

Favourite product: The photo frame - tres mignonne!
Least Favourite product: The body cream by Mitchell and Peach - toooo manyyy body lotions!

What did you think of this months offering from MLB?

Merci Beaucoup for reading lovely people!

Bisous!
