My Little Brooklyn Box October 2016

Bonjour mes amis!

Autumn is now upon us and its getting a wee bit chilly! So I was delighted to receive My Little Box for October, to see what goodies await me. I already knew what the theme of this months box was and as I am a HUGE fan of anything New York related.. I was delighted to see it was the theme of Brooklyn. My Little Box previously done a New York box when they were only supplying boxes in France and I really had my fingers crossed they would do another spin on a "New York" themed box. Brooklyn in itself is coming in to its own and creating its own identity from Manhattan with is quirky cafes, artisan shops, indie boutiques; basically a hipsters paradise. I think Brooklyn ties in very well with the theme of October and autumn; My Little Box have delivered on this box and I am sooo happy they didn't go with a Halloween theme which would have been soo clichéd for October.

The design of the box is soo cute depicting a lady drinking her coffee and reading a book in no doubt a hipster coffee house in Brooklyn. In the inner lid of the exterior cardboard packaging of the box was such a cute little sticker of a Donut that says: "Donut Worry". Love this.

Upon opening the box; it was tied up together in ribbon holding all the contents together and came with the printed card which I love to frame and will most definitely frame this one as I just love it.

The card displays features of Brooklyn and most iconically the Brooklyn bridge which I have had the privilege of already walking across.

Ok soo let's dig into the all important contents of the box!

The first item I had a look at was an interesting little plastic stencil type item which I discovered to be a stencil for your coffee to create a design on the top with cocoa powder. This is such a cute idea and as I tend to drink a lot of coffee at home this will be the perfect way to spruce up my coffee and to impress my friends when they come to visit! Costa.... Move aside! ahaha

The glossy mag is featured again and has some interesting articles on Brooklyn travel and fashion/food etc.. A great wee read.

The first of the lifestyle items I had a look at was an interesting box that says "Coffee made me do it" on the lid and the box is designed in like shop fronts all around the box. Sooo I am thinking this is some kind of coffee mug and it is! And I LOVE this little mug! It is an enamelled mug in white with a turquoise rim and this is such a quirky little mug that I will be drinking plenty of coffees from.

This mug retails for £10.

The next item I had a look of the lifestyle ones were little pins that I initially thought were earrings but turned out to be collar pins for a shirt and there was another little pin too that was in the shape of a doughnut and it is really cute! I love collar pins to add an extra bit of detailing to a shirt or collared top and these are very elegant. The pins retail for £6 and I think that is a reasonable price.

Now for the beauty bag of goodies.. The first item I pulled out the bag was a Polaar hand cream in 75ml. I have already received one of these before in another beauty box and I really love this cream. It is perfect for the harsh weather winter can bring and can dry out hands. Pleased to see there is an item that I have already used before and know it is a great product on the other hand I enjoy beauty boxes as a means of testing and becoming introduced to new products to try out.

The next item in the box was an eyeliner Khol pencil by the brand Terry in the shade Terrybly. This shade is a lovely gold colour and I am very excited to try this as I don't experiment with many other shades of eyeliner other than black so gold will be interesting. And most suitable as we approach the wintery, festive period! I have used Terry eyeliners before and they are one of my favourites I particularly like their resistance to smudge. This eyeliner retails for £24.

The last of the beauty items is from My Little Beauty and is a nail strengthening treatment. This treatment is intended to be applied twice a week and aims to strengthen and fortify nails from top to bottom. I tend to change my nail polish a lot and I am to prone to the dreaded dry, brittle nails that easily break so I am gonna give this a try and see the results. I always use base coats to protect my nails from nail polish however rarely actually apply a treatment. This retails for £7 from My Little Beauty.

Well.... there you have it! Another offering from My Little Box and I am really pleased with it. More so for the lifestyle items and thr theme they were going for. Not just as impressed with the beauty items but all the same a great box.

Favourite item: Enamelled coffee mug
Least Favourite item: Polaar hand cream (bit boring)
