My Little Los Angeles Box June 2017

Hey everyone!

I am so delighted to be back and to be sharing June's box from MLB with you all. I am especially thrilled about this box as I am travelling to LA in October for one of my best friend's wedding and.... I am a bridesmaid! It is soo exciting and I really cannot wait to go; so this box is an extra special one for me. It has definitely got me in that Cali- mood.

First thing that needs to be addressed is just how beautifully designed this box is (I know I rattle on a lot about the design of the boxes) but the my little box's are always designed so beautifully and would even make a great gift box for a present - which I have actually done before.

One thing I did notice upon opening the box was that the usual sticker which is found on the outer cardboard box was missing.. I know a sticker is quite a small aspect but its the little things that can make a box sometimes and I enjoy putting these stickers on my laptop so I was a little sad not to see one there.

The contents of the box were tied together with a palm tree designed MLB ribbon which was very cute for the theme of LA and instead of the usual printed card there was a fold out Welcome to LA things to do and see booklet which folds out to reveal a really cute illustrated map of the LA hotspots by Kanako. I love this and just about everywhere on the map are places I want to visit when I am in LA. The pastel shades used in this box are very California dreaming....

Lifestyle items

The first of the lifestyle items to be found in the box was a canvas bag in a leafy design which says "Take me Away" on it. I think this could be perfect to be used as a beach bag when I go over to LA; It is a good decent size and I love the print. I may even be tempted to use it before October!

The second of the lifestyle items came in a little paper bag which says "California Dreamin'" on it. Inside the bag there is a very bright green, pink and gold beaded bracelet with neon pink little tassels. Each of the beads on the bracelet is supposed to represent a wish for: love, health and happiness. I think this is most definitely a holiday piece for on the beach... is a little too bright for wearing in dreary Glasgow at the moment. I like this bracelet although would have preferred to see an anklet as I think that is more summery and something we have not seen in a MLB yet.

The final little lifestyle item was just TOO CUTE and I love them! And it is..... Stickers! Yes I do love me some stickers and these are just so sweet! Little symbols of LA as stickers such as "Hotel California", a cactus, surfboard, etc.... Not sure where I will decorate with these yet... Maybe my passport cover for when I am going to LA.

Beauty items

Now for the beauty bag of treats...

And I must say.... I am a little disappointed that the little drawstring bag which normally contains the items was missing.... Instead we received the items in a paper type bag designed in palm trees. I really hope the draw string bags return as they are so handy to have for travelling and I think they could have come up with a great design for the LA theme.

The first beauty item was.... (And I am happy to say was not nail polish!) was actually a small travel size 50ml bottle of Palmers Coconut Oil body lotion. I love this product.. it is a bit of a cult product really and the smell of this is divine! It smells like sun in a bottle and I will definitely be using this to make my skin super soft that smells of paradise.

The second beauty item was a Burt's Bees' deep cleansing cream.in 20g. This cream is supposed to be effective in removing make up and dirt and is formulated with Chamomile, Aloe and a hint of menthol known for its cooling and soothing properties - Perfect for the summer when I get a little sun kissed. I have not used many products from Burt's Bees' before but I have heard excellent reviews and I am excited to give this a go.

The last of the beauty items was a Coco Sunrise Hair and Body Oil from My Little Beauty. I love hair and body oils so there is no doubt I will get use of this.. However I just feel this item is too samey to the others. All of the other items are lotions and creams. I think MLB had the opportunity to throw in a really good make up item to tie in with the glitz of LA like a highlighter or something more exciting other than coconut products. None the less the hair and body oil smells incredible - I recently had my hair dyed so this will be perfect for using on the ends of my hair.

So there you have it readers... My review for the June LA box. This box really did not disappoint.. I feel like this box was almost made for me as I have been making so many plans recently for my trip to LA. I just hope in the next box they will include the little details because when they're gone I tend to miss them! Anyone else feel this way??...

Any who I will send you my Au Revoir's for now.. while I go and watch LA LA Land! ahah

My Little Friday Night Box May 2017

Bonjour mes amis!

I hope you are all well.. I am pleased to share with you the latest offering from My Little Box for May 2017.

This month's box is the theme of Friday night and the box is designed so beautifully! I keep thinking that MLB can't make their boxes any cuter and then they just smash it! The design of these boxes is definitely the best among whats out there in the market right now.

The sticker which was in the inner lid of the outer packaging was so cute and had me singing!

This box anticipates to be a little bundle of fun and I was really intrigued to see what MLB came up with for the theme of Friday night.

I was pleased to see the illustrated card back again and this one was really cute depicting "Four People you meet at every party". I think I would be the Philanthropist - "she's totally broke- and yet there she is at the bar, wallet open, YOLO-style handing out free drinks to everyone you know." Sums me up well! Always broke but still manage a night out!

Now.. on to the contents of the box... The first item I had a look at was a coral coloured box which says "Shake your bow tie". This item is something I have never came across before and the concept behind it is rather quite interesting! Its a bow tie for your bra - the idea is that you loop it on to the back of your bra so it sits visibly over the clasp. This is best to be worn when wearing something backless so that the bow can be seen. I really like the concept of this and is something very original; I myself do not own many backless tops or dresses but I am sure I can find a way to make it work. Any way to make a bra look a little more appealing and cheekily seductive is a win for me.

Check out my instagram (cheryl_cinnamon) soon for some photos of the bow in action!

The next item which I am in LOVE with is a set of 4 cork coasters that have been beautifully painted in pastel shades and in geometric prints. These remind me of something I could find in Ikea and have a Scandi feel to them. I can see how these are tying in with the theme of a Friday night because of course the drinks have to sit somewhere and what could be better than these little cuties - I already have my set out on my coffee tables and I just love how they look.

The next of the lifestyle items was in a cute little package which says "Love triangle" on it. The item inside is a beautiful triangle geometric hairpin. I have seen a few hairpins like this one but in different shapes like a heart, etc and really wanted to get myself one so I am delighted to have received this and could definitely see me wearing it on a Friday night out. Tres chic!

Now on to the beauty bag of goodies... This months little fabric bag was relatively plain in its design and simply had spots and my little box all over it. The first item I had a look at was a small spray called Surf infusion. This product is an oil and salt-infused spray for soft sea-tossed waves with sheen. The size of this product is quite small at 45ml. The scent of the spray is pleasing and fresh; I have yet to try this product but I am looking forward to trying it out, With summer upon us I am going to wear my hair more wavy at times and embrace my wavy hair for a change and hopefully this spray will tame the frizz a little and give me some "sea-tossed waves" (as promised) :P

The next of the beauty items I am sad to say is.... another.... nail polish. I rarely have criticism for MLB but you must stop with the nail polishes! Its almost in every second box we are getting one. It was just recently that we received a nail polish in the no filter March box. I quite like the shade of this polish in a soft coral colour. This polish is by the brand nailmatic varnishes which I have not heard from but it looks promising, I will give it a go...

The last of the beauty items was an eyeliner pencil from My Little Beauty brand which I am not really too fussed about to be honest. I wear mainly liquid liner and don't think that I will get much use out of this so not too excited about this. Nice product - just not for me.

So there you have it... Another month,, another box.

I have seen a few hints about June's box and I am veryy excited about it!! Think its gonna be a good one.

This was not the most exciting box for me.. I preferred the lifestyle items as I feel the beauty ones have let it down a little.

Favourite item: Hairpin and coasters
Least Favourite: Nail polish

A big merci for reading this all you lovely readers!

Until next time....

My Little Garden Box April 2017

Bonjour mes amis!

Soo.. I am a bit late with this review of the April MLB but better late than never I say! The box was too adorable not to share my love of it for you all... I hope you will enjoy it!

First things first..... I have to have a little bit of a moment of adoration for the design of this box.. I think the reason I love it so much is because it made me feel quite nostalgic and I took a moment to remember the times I have spent in Paris; wandering around the many beautiful parks to be found in the city. My particular favourite is the Jardin du Palais Royal leading up towards Le Louvre. The illustration of the girl sitting reading in one of these beautiful parks took me right back to that place and made me feel so happy that I have been able to experience the very wonder that is Paris and is making me itchy to get back and sit in the Jardin du Palais Royal overlooking a fountain with un cafĂ©! Ok enough of me reminiscing... and on to the contents of this delightful box.

As you can see the theme for April is Garden and has been suitably picked for this month. The theme has a nature and all things green feel to it.

On opening the box I was soon to discover that the usual printed card was missing and was replaced with a Garden to Table 'Seasonal produce Calendar to help you eat your way through the seasons'. It is quite a cute idea and something I may actually refer to but I would have preferred a printed card to frame as I do not think I will be hanging this in my kitchen.

The box this month has a bit of weight to it and packed with goodies so I was excited to see what everything was...

The first of the lifestyle items I had a look at was a little magnetic shopping list notepad that you can attach to your fridge; it also has some tasty recipes for healthy detox drinks, smoothies and snacks.

I will likely put this on the fridge but I doubt I will ever remember to write anything on it! I may try out a few of the recipes though..

The next of the lifestyle bits was in a cute little envelope that says "The-wear-it-your-way-scarf". Inside is a very cute square fabric scarf in gorgeous blue and green colours with a nature style print complete with paisley pattern tear drops! my favourite!!! So I love..... love..... love.... this! I am actually thinking of not wearing it as a scarf as it is a bit smaller than the type of scarfs I wear - this one is more of a neck scarf. I think I am going to use is a bag accessory and tie it on to my bag or wrap it around the handle of the bag. A very cute accessory for Spring.

The next item was the one I was most excited about.... I have been meaning to buy myself one of these recently so was so pleased that MLB saved me the effort and included one in this box. The very item is a "Fruitshake infuser" water bottle. I have noticed that these have became very popular recently and with the summer drawing ever so nearer it feels right to. I have used this a few times now and have been using the combination of lemon, mint, cucumber and strawberry. How it works; is that you cut up all your fruit into small chunks and you can use as many different combinations to suit your preference - even for some people just simple lemon is enough. You fill up the central infuser chamber of the bottle with the fruit which is able to infuse through into the water - fill up the remainder of the bottle with water et voila! Pop it into the fridge overnight and you have yourself a tasty all natural detoxifying water. I found this perfect for work and gives me a wee boost at the start of work and sets me up perfect for my shift. A massive thumbs up for this item! The design of the bottle is very charming and it is of good quality.

Ok so now on to the beauty pieces... These were found in the usual drawstring bag which was decorated in a cute little leaf design.

The first of the beauty items was a pretty large item in a 250ml size. The item was a restoring body lotion from brand Mixa. This brand is French one which is one of the best things I love about MLB - that you get to try out a lot of French brands you are unable to get in the UK. I have been using the body lotion for about a week now and I am impressed by how fast absorbing it is and doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy at all and the size of this product is excellent. RRP £6.49 for 250 ml.

The next item is from the My Little Beauty brand and is a Vitamin Shot Facial scrub. This facial scrub smells amazing and the consistency is good. It is made with bamboo extract, apricot seed powder and argan oil and leaves your skin feeling so refreshed, smooth and brighter. I am always running out of facial scrubs so a new one is a great thing for me. This scrub comes in a 75 ml size.

The next of the beauty items I unfortunately have to say I was not so impressed with as it is a repeat item. The item is a summer lips tinted lip balm which was actually featured in the August 2016 My Little Friends box. I am a bit disappointed that MLB are churning out items that have already featured in previous boxes. It seems as if they have left over stock maybe and just decide to throw it into to another box to make up items. I actually quite like the lip balm so I will use it.. I just do not enjoy seeing repeat items.. bit been there.. done that and not what beauty boxes should be about. This is my least favourite item in the box and feel that this has let the box down a bit.

A last little bonus item was a little bag of ape coconut bites. These little crunchy coconut bites are high in fibre, gluten free, 1 of your 5 a day and are perfect for some quick healthy snacking. I myself adore anything coconut so I was more than delighted to try these out and loved them - will be looking for them in the shops. I received a small sample sized bag.

So there you have it... A better late than never review of the Garden box. I was pleased with this box but would say it has not been one of my favourite ones. Most of the items I will use.. I just hope not to see repeated items again as I am sure many of you are!

 Favourite item: Water infuser bottle
Least Favourite item: Tinted lip balm

A big thank you to all those who read these wherever you are! I hope you enjoy them. Catch me soon for the next instalment of MLB as I expect its gonna land on my doorstep sooon!

A bisous et bientot!

My Little No Filter Box March 2017

Bonjour mes amis!

It has been a long time since I wrote a post for you all!... November last year to be exact! What can I say... I fell into a bit of a rut before Christmas and was swamped with numerous things going on in my life.. A change of job for one (and a fair few others) but I am back and have a review for the March MLB for you all which I hope you will enjoy.

The theme for the March box is: No Filter and I personally love what they have created with this theme.. I would say this box (or bag) for this month has been very true to its theme and all of its contents run very well with the nofilter theme. I think this might be the best box that I have seen by the means of MLB tying everything in with the theme so precisely. Spot on MLB! Soo without delay.. Lets look at the contents of this wonderful bag.

Every now and then; My Little box like to stray away a little from the actual box that you receive your contents in; previously they have offered us a tin, a fabric bag, a box that was sort of a book with a cover that could be tied with the traditional MLB ribbon. I like that occasionally they offer up something a bit different and I am sure like many other subscribers I am struggling to make space to store all the boxes; that are just too pretty to throw away!

The bag itself is a nude, translucent, glossy plastic which will be perfect to use as a wash bag for a weekend away; it is really lovely and stylish.

The first item I pulled out of the bag was a sort of pink blush coloured box that says "Selfie brush" on it - pretty big clue as to what this could be.. A purse-sized foundation and blush brush. It is so cute and compact and I just cannot tell you how in love I am with the colour theme of this box - the nudes, rose golds and pink blush colours they have packaged everything in; it is gorgeous. Very contemporary and looks expensive.

The brush is soo soft and delicate with a lovely gentle blush colour on the top of it. I will definitely be using this for my loose setting powder and think it will work wonderfully for just that.

The next item I had a look at was in the most cutest packaging I had ever seen!... Pink heart shaped bubble wrap! Can there be anything better than that?! We need more of this in the world!!!

Not gonna lie... I've been popping these hearts away but its such cute packaging I am trying my best not to ruin it! Packaging is a big selling point for me! So inside this intriguing little package was something called "The Ring for your smartphone". This nifty little piece of kit in a rose gold colour attaches to the back of your phone and allows you to use it as a mini tripod to take photos/videos in portrait and landscape and its 360 degree rotation compatibility is perfect for "those acrobatic selfies" if you feel the urge to want to take photos upside down. I have now attached mines to my phone (without taking a photo first).. nice move Cheryl.. but you can see a pic here of how it works. I am liking it for mainly the purpose of propping my phone up to watch things on my phone hands free (It has especially been perfect for in the bath!) Love the idea MLB!

The next item I pulled out was again a small blush coloured box with a lady on it doing her nails... so I am thinking... Nail Polish!

This is a very delicate pinky/nude colour which I really love and again the theme is running brilliantly throughout. It really is apparent why each item has been chosen for this box as we go through the contents. I can never be disappointed with a nail polish so I am happy with this.

The next of the beauty related items which I was MEGA pleased with! was....................... A........ Laura Mercier foundation primer in 15ml size. I love Laura Mercier products however I do not tend to use them a lot as they are a little more high end than I usually buy - every once in a while though as a treat! This new Blemish less primer is intended to make pores disappear right before your eyes and evens out skin tone. I do love a primer and the one I have been using recently is the Too Faced Hangover primer however as I love Laura Mercier products I am well too excited to try this out. The formula is very light and delicately fragranced. This retails at: £30 RRP.

The last of the beauty items is an Ultra HD Pressed Powder from brand Make Up Forever. This pressed microfinishing powder; mattifies, blurs imperfections and leaves you looking luminous. I have heard good things about this powder and I am intrigued to see how "photo-ready" it actually makes you feel. Will give it a go and will see if a nofilter selfie is instagram worthy! ahaha! This retails at: £26 RRP.

The last little item I received was a cute little pink notebook with make up bits all over it and says "Beauty Notes" on it. This little booklet is "your mini guide to going au natural. From what to eat for better skin to how to transform your makeup-makeup into no makeup-makeup." It has cute little tips and articles in the front of the booklet and then there is spare lined paper in the rest of the booklet for your own notes. A cute idea from MLB but doesn't anyone else miss the My Little World magazine? I always liked to read it on the train as it was such a nice size to fit into my bag.. ah well if it means more products in the boxes (which I think is the reason why they removed it) then no complaints really.

I was happy to see that MLB still included the usual printed card which I love to frame. This one is lovely and says "You were born to be real.. Not to be perfect" Love this quote and is very apt for this box. Pass me a frame!

So there you have it My Little Boxers... The March review! What did you think of this box if you received it? I adore this box and think My Little Box have really upped their game and brought something really outstanding to the table.

My Favourite item: Laura Mercier primer
My Least Favourite item: Nail Polish

Marks out of 10: DIX :)

I am waiting in eager anticipation for next months box, if MLB keep this standard up! Great work MLB!

A big thank you to all those reading this! Hope you enjoy it and I promise I will be back soon this time! No more long breaks! :)

A bientot et bisous!
